Chimney & fireplace sales training

The chimney appointment runs on findings nobody can argue with: the camera’s photos of a cracked flue, the cap rusted through, the mortar leaving the joints. Spar trains chimney and fireplace reps on the documented system — inspection first, pressure never.

The system

One playbook, run in order

The appointment runs the 7 steps in order: Entry, Warm-Up, Probing & Layering, Presentation, Pre-Close, Close, Button-Up. Probing is the inspection itself — what the flue shows, what the firebox has been doing, the water finding its way down — documented and photographed, then presented in plain language at the table.

Safety sells itself when it is real, and the documented system keeps it that way: Build Pain works from the homeowner’s own answers — the smoke smell in the living room, the fires they stopped lighting because something felt off — never from fear the rep manufactures. And when we’re waiting until later means another season of fires, the framework asks what changes later.

The investment is spoken in the system’s language, and the decision includes every decision maker — the partner who never lights a fire still lives under the chimney. Entry discipline matters here: the appointment starts at the door and earns the hearth.

Step deep dive

Entry: from the door to the hearth

The documented Entry earns the inside of the appointment: who you are, why you are there, what the inspection will look at, and what happens with the findings. For a chimney rep, a clean entry is what turns a doorstep conversation into a camera in the flue and a table full of photographs.

Entry is step one on every Spar scorecard — drilled first, graded always. See how Fight Camp works.

Training by trade

One system, every trade

The playbook does not change with the product — the door pitch, the 7 steps, the objection framework, and the twelve closes run in every in-home trade. Spar trains all of them:

Objection deep dives

The 18 objections, in chimney appointments

Eighteen objections decide most appointments. Each one, handled in a chimney setting with the documented framework:

Scenario drills

The chimney & fireplace moments, drilled as rounds

Two of Spar’s documented situation rounds, run in chimney & fireplace settings — the setup, what each round trains, and how the scorecard grades it:
