Owners blame the labor market for turnover. Watch when reps actually leave, though: after the stretch where every appointment ends the same way and nobody can tell them why. Reps can take hard work. What they cannot take is losing without a map.
The cycle
The green rep gets company leads before he has a run. He loses the way untrained reps lose — skipped steps, fumbled objections, the decision maker who was never in the room. His confidence goes before his numbers do. He quits, and the owner starts over with the next hire and the same missing system, wondering why the labor pool is so shallow.
The pool is not the problem. The cycle is: hire, hand over leads, watch him lose, replace him. Every turn of that cycle runs the owner a recruiting round, a training round, and a season of appointments that never had a chance.
The lever
A new rep who can run the door and the warm-up cleanly gets small wins early — and early wins are what a rep stands on while the rest of the appointment comes together. Sparring gives him the other kind of losing: losses in the ring that teach, instead of losses on your leads that just discourage.
He stays because he can see himself getting better. The scorecards show it to him in writing, round over round. Reps do not quit a craft they are visibly improving at.
The cheapest team you will ever build is the one that stops walking out.
Spar Teams: Corner — up to 5 reps, $199/mo. Stable — up to 15 reps, $449/mo. Franchise — up to 35 reps, $799/mo. Pay annually and two months are free; past 35 seats, email and we’ll set up a custom arrangement. The tiers differ by seats, not by content — every rep gets the full Spar platform.
