The Pre-Close is where you find out how good a Presentation you actually gave. Before any number exists, confirm the homeowner is sold on you, the company, and the products — and isolate the investment as the only thing left.
Where it sits
The Pre-Close follows the Presentation and makes the Close possible. Salespeople get excited and rush straight from presenting into the number; the system does not. If the homeowner is not comfortable with you, the company, the product, or the warranty, showing them a number does not fix it — it buries it. The Pre-Close surfaces every remaining concern while there is still time to address it calmly.
What it is
Start with the scale: ask them to rate everything they have seen so far from 1 to 10 — then stop and listen to the number. A 7 or lower means something is unaddressed: ask what it would take to get to a 10, and deal with whatever surfaces, now. An 8 or 9 asks the same question in softer form — usually there is one small concern standing between them and complete comfort. A 10 means you have established value in yourself, the company, the products, and the warranties.
Then remove everything but the investment from the table: ask whether anything other than the investment is keeping them from moving forward, and stop talking. If a concern comes up, address it now. If the answer is no, the next conversation is isolated to the investment alone — which is exactly where the Close wants to live.
“Before we get into the overall investment, I just want to make sure I did my job…”
“Based on everything we’ve gone over so far, on a scale of 1 to 10, how do you feel about everything we’ve shown you?”
“Other than the investment, is there anything keeping you from moving forward with us?”
The checklist
The Pre-Close feels simple until a homeowner hands you a 6 and a concern you never saw coming. Spar runs that moment against you until the diagnosis is calm and automatic — $29/month. Spar before you knock.
