The Monday Meeting, Rebuilt

Most sales meetings are a weather report: last week's numbers, this week's leads, somebody's explanation. A team on one system can do better — the meeting becomes the place the system gets coached, one piece at a time.

The agenda

One scorecard, one objection, one close

  • Open on a scorecard. One rep puts a recent round's scorecard in front of the room — his language, his move, where the decision makers drifted — and the room works the moment, not the man.
  • One objection, framework out loud. Take the objection that beat the team last week and run the 7-stage framework on it together: release pressure, ask permission, gather feedback, isolate, empathize, respond, re-close.
  • One close, drilled. The closing drill for one of the twelve closes, so the room's hands stay on the actual words.
  • Close with the week's focus. Whichever step the scorecards keep flagging becomes the sparring assignment until next Monday.

Why it works

The appointments come into the room

The old meeting depended on the manager's memory of appointments he never attended. Scorecards change the evidence: the room can see where a run leaked, in the system's own language, without anybody defending his version of a kitchen table.

And rhythm beats intensity. One objection a week is fifty-two objections a year, coached in the open, on one standard. That is how a system stops being a binder and becomes the way the team talks.

One meeting a week, run on the system

That is the whole rhythm. The scorecards bring the material; the room does the coaching.
