Franklin T Close

A decision floating around a kitchen table is hard to make. The Franklin T Close puts it on paper — their reasons, in their words — where they can finally see it.

When it runs

When they like everything but the decision will not land

The Franklin T is for the appointment where the product, the company, and the project all check out, but the decision is still floating. Both decision makers should be present — the T is built with both of them, and letting them disagree on paper is part of how it works.

It is also a listening exercise. The moment a side of the T stalls, you usually find the real objection hiding in it — and now you have something specific to work with.

What it is

Their list — never yours

Draw the T. On one side, their reasons for moving forward — built from their answers, in their exact language, never your list read back to them. Start with their reasons for doing the project at all, the ones Probing & Layering already surfaced. On the other side, their reasons for waiting.

Do not just count the items — a list of nine small reasons does not beat one big one. Ask “anything else?” until both sides are complete, then prioritize together: which of these matters most? When the decision becomes obvious on paper, it becomes obvious to the homeowner. When it does not, the T has still done its job — it exposed what is actually holding the decision up.

  • Never build their list for them — your words carry no weight on their paper.
  • Use their exact language. The roof is “getting old” because they said it.
  • Ask “anything else?” until both sides are honestly finished.
  • Never argue with the waiting side — weigh it, do not fight it.
  • The visual component matters. A decision they can see is a decision they can make.
The language — documented
“Let’s make this simple. What are the reasons you guys would want to get the project done?”
“Anything else?”

Where it fits

One system, twelve closes

The Franklin T can expose the real objection and lead straight into a Contingency Close — or organize the choice an Option Close then presents. One of the twelve closes drilled in Spar Fight Camp.

Every close on this page is taught from Frankie J’s documented training — the same system Spar grades against in live AI sparring rounds. Read the full library on The Twelve Closes, see how the closes sit inside the 7-step system, and drill this one until it is reflex with a Spar membership.

Drill the Franklin T Close until it’s reflex

Reading about a close is not the same as running it against a homeowner who pushes back. Spar is the AI sparring partner built on Frankie J’s exact system — live voice rounds, graded against the playbook, for $29/month. Spar before you knock.
